The client is responsible for the property of Party In A Teacup from delivery to collection.

Payments

Cheques are to be made payable to Party In a Teacup.  Bank transfers can be made via BACS – account number available on application.

Our China is intended to be mismatched

Please be aware that our china is intended to be mismatched.  That is, a teacup, saucer and plate in one place setting will not match or be part of a set.

Delivery Charges

We are open for collection & return of our china 7 days a week.  Subject to prior arrangement.

Minimum order value to qualify for delivery is £50 within a 10 mile radius £100 within a 25 mile radius.  Orders under £50 must be collected.  Delivery is charged at 0.40p per mile.  Plus any congestion charges or road tolls, if applicable.

Hire Period & Delivery

The hire period is up to 4 days & will be delivered/collected at a mutually convenient time. Extensions can be arranged at further cost.  On receipt of the china it will be the responsibility of the client to inspect the china against the inventory supplied.

Deposits

Two separate deposits are required:

  • A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of the total order.  Paid at the time of booking.
  • A damage deposit 50% of the china hire value or £100 (whichever is greater) 14 days before the hire date.  The deposit will be returned to the client once the items have been returned and checked for damages or to establish if there are any missing items.  (see Loss or Damages).

Payment

1.  We require the booking deposit (25%) at the time of booking.

2.  The balance will be due 14 days before the hire date.  All balances on bookings made 14 days or less before the event date are to be paid in full.

3.  Once the booking is confirmed and booking deposit received, the booking will be confirmed in writing or email.

4.  The damage deposit is to be paid at the same time as the balance {ie 14 days before the event or in full if less than 14 days}.  This deposit will be returned, provided there are no breakages or missing items. (see Loss or Damages).

Cancellation

In the event of a cancellation the booking deposit will be lost (this is non-refundable) and (if applicable) the damage deposit will be returned.  If the client wishes to cancel they must inform Party In A Teacup in writing and acknowledged by return.

Washing Up

Washing up is included in the hire fee.  Due to the delicate nature of our china we prefer to hand wash the items.  Also this enables us to check for any damage and ensures that the items are cleaned to a high standard so that we can guarantee clean crockery for our next customer.

Care and Packing of China/Linen

Your china will be provided to you in sturdy boxes that will be labelled for your convenience.  Please ensure that you, your representative or your caterer:

  1. Remove any excess food or drink.
  2. Pack the china away in the boxes provided.  Do not mix item types.  This helps to minimise breakages.
  3. Cups are to be stacked a maximum of 3 high using the kitchen roll provided.
  4. Saucers are to be stacked in bundles of 5, then wrapped in the cling film provided.
  5. Plates are to be stacked in bundles of 5, then wrapped in the cling film provided.
  6. Teapots are to be cling filmed and packed using kitchen roll provided.
  7. Other remaining items can be packed with care.
  8. Any linen hired is packed dry.

Please note that you, the client are responsible for any breakages made by yourself, your representative or your caterer.

Collection

The order must be ready for collection on the agreed date and time and packed as indicated above. The items must be in an easily accessible location (no stairs & a nearby parking space etc).  If we need to re pack due to poor packing a £20 fee will be charged to the client.  Any breakages due to poor packing will also be subject to the damage charges.

Loss or Damages

The 50% refundable damage deposit {or £100 depending on which is the greater} is charged at the time of hire, this will be returned once goods have been returned and checked for any damage or loss.  The client will be informed within a maximum of 4 working days if there is any damage, missing or substituted items.  Missing and or damage to the rented goods will be charged at the prices below and deducted accordingly from the client’s damage deposit.  Customer’s goods cannot be accepted as replacements.

Party In a Teacup cannot accept any responsibility for any damage or injury caused by the items which are under the client’s responsibility, or any liability for any claims that come about from any event concerning or involving items hired by us.
