Glorious Chelsea & Vintage Inspiration

Every year in May, the grounds of the Royal Chelsea Hospital are transformed into a floral wonderland casting everyone who visits under its floral spell!  Its a very complex task for all involved, making sure everything blooms at the right time just for us!

It’s appeal is very broad, from hardcore gardeners to those just there to enjoy the hospitality! {and why wouldn’t you … as Raymond Blanc was there this year with his beautiful pop up restaurant ‘Jardin Blanc’}! Unfortunately I had to make do with calamari and chips from a street food van … but to be honest that was delicious too!!

My bag is the styling.  Lots of inspiration and careful placement of old and new things, plus a healthy mixture of both and the colours this year were just lovely!

Personally, my favourite style is country cottage garden in pretty pinks, lilacs, purples and of course white.

Anyway getting back to the first picture I posted {this one incase you forgot it} … Isn’t it gorgeous?  This was the  beautiful St Germain liqueur van!  It was beautifully styled by florist June in March who are based in West London.  I have to say in real life it was stunning!  It all just looked so natural, like it had always been there.  The blue delphiniums were divine and the red roses gave it that lovely pop of colour!  I could have moved in!  Its also made me want to explore St Germain a little bit more in the cocktail department too!!  Details to follow!

So as our lovely day out drew to a close and our feet were worn out, we just wanted to sit at this lovely table and have afternoon tea.  Unfortunately it was part of the display by the wonderful David Austin Roses, but beautiful nonetheless!
